Introduction
Man confronts with culture and the rules of the society he belongs to through
environment. ln doing so he becomes capable of interacting with the others,
increasing his personal skills and characteristics in a tight connection with the
stimuli and richness in proposals the surrounding world can offer.
As music is the most complete and complex form of expression, it is
fundamental for the building of a child. The younger he is, the more
stimulating can a targeted and specific programme work in any aspect, in the
most natural way.
Music Lullaby has been thought in order to enter the world of very small
children (0-3 years old) through the places and people belonging to their universe.
This is a pathway providing for insertion of music as a vehicle for building,
education, as welt as psychomotor and cognitive development inside day
nurseries and the very families.
The booklet contains the route of work that day nursery teachers and mums
at home must do every day, divided into weekly activity papers. Every paper
includes the plans for listening, vocality and rhythm exercises, which must be
carried out gradually and constantly, adding, every day, a new element and
the ditty with the related psychomotor games, manuality, and technical
suggestion. The name "Mà" can be referred to both a mum (Mamma) or a
teacher (Maestra).
The following and natural development of such an educational project is the
Suzuki Method offering children aged 30-36 months and older the continuity
related to the "Music Lullaby" method, through the "Children'S Music
Laboratory" collective courses and the study of a musical instrument. This is
indispensable for every individual's human and cultural growth.
The weekly exercise papers are divided in specific topics which have to be
distributed during the day, according to targeted operating routes.
It's clear that small children wilt respond differently according to their age
groups. That is why every element can be elaborated at different levels.
Within the day nurseries the daily routine provides for both collective group
activities and situations of direct contact with children (nappy changing, byebyes),
out of this reason, exactly, some proposals can be elaborated in a
face-to-face relationship, so as a mum would do at home.
We consider it indispensable that only a teacher who has deepened this
pathway and its next level in Suzuki courses can be in charge of the project
and its implementation within day nurseries. Therefore the teachers qualified
for CML has been identified as the ideal specialistic support. These teachers
will support the families who choose this "educational environment" in a
private form and adopt it.
Music Lullaby and children's Music Laboratory are programmes created by
Elena Enrico and spread by Elena Enrico and Marco Messina in ltaly and
Europe, according to the projects and aims of the
Musical Garden Association.
